Denice Dixon

Mrs. Denice S. Dixon is highly knowledgeable and experienced in the field of special education. She has experience as a public-school special education teacher and a special education administrator in multiple districts in Georgia. Mrs. Dixon is certified as an Orton-Gillingham specialist and has done extensive work for students with dyslexia. Her background allows her to advocate on your family’s behalf in IEP meetings and Section 504 meetings. She has attended thousands of meetings that fall within the framework of IDEA on behalf of school districts. Her meeting experience includes, but is not limited to, Annual IEP’s, Amendment IEP’s, Initial Eligibilities, Redetermination Eligibilities, Independent Education Evaluation Feedback Sessions, Response to Intervention (RTI) or Student Support Team (SST), Manifestation Determination Reviews (MDR), Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) Sessions, and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Sessions. Mrs. Dixon’s deep understanding of childhood development and disability categories under IDEA allows her to not only recommend instructional and behavior strategies, but it also helps to guide IEP teams in classroom implementation of these strategies. Her knowledge and understanding of student and parental rights under IDEA and Section 504 will help to ensure your child receives all appropriate educational services that are directly tailored to your child’s needs under IDEA and/or Section 504.
